When President Kennedy decreed that the United States would land astronauts on the moon by the end of the decade (1969), a major development was the Space Suit that would be required for the astronauts to walk on the moon where no atmosphere exists. This panel reviewed work conducted on the space suits by Friendswood residents. From the first Extra-vehicular Activity conducted on Gemini 4 through Apollo 11, by Larry Bell. Former Astronaut Jerry Ross discussed some of his activities using the Space Suit during Shuttle Missions, including some of the construction of the International Space Station. Jerry's daughter, Amy a Friendswood ISD graduate, discussed her current activities at NASA leading the development of advanced Space Suits.
