This book written by local historian Joycina Day Baker captures the people, family life and events in Friendswood, Texas beginning before a Quaker settlement was formed in 1895 up to 1993. The author used an informal writing style to present noteworthy events along with quantitative facts, figures, photographs, and colorful stories from oral history. Family narratives related to living in the Friendswood area are included at the end of the book, unedited except for length. These memories were volunteered in response to requests issued through the local newspapers over a period of years. They corroborate and add color to Friendswood’s history.
